Studio (beta)
Build your channel's own video layout in Studio, by hand or by chatting with the AI designer. Design the thumbnail separately, export faster in Chrome, and make vertical videos on the free plan.
Studio (beta): your channel's own look
Every video made in the classic editor follows the same layout. Studio lets you build your own: drag elements onto a 16:9 canvas, place and style them, and they animate from your lyrics, members and timing by themselves.
Elements: lyrics (classic or chat bubbles), a member list (a list with singing-time counters and live ranking, or the classic photo strip), the now-singing photo, text with the song and artist filled in, images, your own video clip, shapes, a now-playing pill and an audio visualizer. Each one can show always, only in the intro or outro, or only while the song plays.
How to start: open Studio in the sidebar and click New video. Pick a starter look from the Templates panel (Classic Color Coded, Distribution Panel or Chat Neon), or save your own as a channel template and reuse it for every song: one on Free, 50 on Pro. Already have a project? Choose Copy to Studio from its menu on the Projects page; lyrics, members and timing come along.
Editing: drag and resize with snapping (hold Alt to skip it, Shift to keep the shape), nudge with the arrow keys, ⌘/Ctrl + D to duplicate and ⌘/Ctrl + Z to undo. Double-click a text to type on the canvas, or a photo to reframe it. Zoom with ⌘/Ctrl + scroll, and collapse the left panel for a bigger canvas. The timeline below keeps your audio and lyrics: drag a line to retime it, click it to pick the singer, or run Auto-sync.
Design it by chatting: the AI designer (Pro)
Don't want to place every element yourself? Open the AI panel in Studio and describe the look you want. Or attach a screenshot of one of your channel's videos and ask the AI to copy it. Then keep refining in plain words: “make the lyrics bigger”, “move the members to the right”, “use the group's official colors”.
Each reply applies its changes in one step, so ⌘/Ctrl + Z undoes it. The AI can change the layout, elements, colors, fonts, text and members' colors, but never your lyrics, timing, member names or photos. Like the look? Save it as a channel template; templates made with AI get a sparkle in your list. The AI designer is part of Pro.
Chat lyrics and live line distribution
Two looks that the classic layout couldn't do. Chat lyrics show each line as a message from the member singing it, with their photo, and the next singer “typing” just before their line. The member list can count each member's singing time and re-rank as the song plays, like a line distribution video.
The Distribution Panel starter puts both side by side. The classic photo strip works too, with the same darkened or color-tint inactive members and bottom glow as the classic editor, and the singer marked by a line below or a frame around their photo.
Pick which language leads
A lyrics element can now choose its main line: the original, or any translation you added. The other languages sit underneath, and you choose which ones show. Put English first for an international audience, show only the translation, or place two lyrics elements in different languages. A line that isn't translated yet shows its original, so nothing goes blank.
A thumbnail canvas of its own
Click Thumbnail to design the video's thumbnail separately from the video. It starts as a copy of the video at the thumbnail moment, so you only add what a thumbnail needs: a big title, a NEW badge, a different photo. The amber frame and banner always show you're editing the still, not the video.
The slider at the bottom picks the moment, which sets the lyrics and member list the thumbnail shows. Start over from the video copies the video's frame again. Want a single frame instead? PNG downloads whatever is at the playhead, at full 1920×1080.
Faster exports that match the preview
In Chrome on a computer, exports are now painted by the browser itself, the same way it draws the preview. That makes them about 3–4× faster, and glows, rounded photos and masks in the video look exactly like the preview. Other browsers keep the previous export path, which also got fixes for glows and rounded photos.
Also new
- Vertical and square on Free: every plan now exports for Shorts, TikTok and Reels (Free keeps the watermark), and style presets are free too. See the new Free vs Pro comparison.
- Sign in to render, in one click: as a guest, the render button now takes you straight to Google sign-in, and your project comes with you.
- Classic editor: an Auto-save switch (off by default, remembered per browser), title and Save in the top bar, and click the artist or title to rename it in place.
- Homepage: a new hero with a playing video preview, and a shorter, clearer FAQ.
- Android app: more audio files are accepted from the file picker.
Studio is in beta. Editing works best on a computer, Studio videos export in 16:9, and karaoke lyrics aren't in Studio yet. Tell us what you'd build with it on the contact page.
