Group lines by singer
AI Timing now splits a song into parts where the voice changes, so you assign each part to a member instead of every line.
AI Timing groups lines by singer
Timing a group song was quick with AI Timing; assigning every line to a member was still one line at a time. Now AI Timing can also listen for where the voice changes and hand you the song in parts, so you name each part once instead of every line.
How to use it: on the web, in the Sync step of a song with two or more members, leave Group by singer ticked and run AI Timing. When the timing is done, a Who sings each part? window opens:
- Play a part (Space), or any single line with its own play button.
- Press a member's number (1–9) to name the part and jump to the next one. Shift + number adds a second singer for duets and unison lines.
- Two singers in one part? Click split here between the lines. Two parts that are really one? Merge them.
- Made a mistake? ⌘/Ctrl + Z undoes it.
- Click Assign to color the lines, or Skip to keep just the timing.
What the AI can and can't do: it hears that the voice changed, not whose voice it is, so you always pick the member. In close harmonies or fast handoffs it can miss a change; that's what play and split are for.
Already have members on your lines? If you imported lyrics from colorcodedlyrics.com or assigned members yourself, Group by singer starts unticked and AI Timing only sets the timing. Lines split between singers are never overwritten.
